Diabetic Examination
The Lacey Practice offers a Private Diabetic Eye Examination, which is fully covered by the Eye Plan Scheme (please contact us for details of the Eye Plan Scheme Membership). We are specifically looking for any changes in a patient’s eyes, driven by their diabetes
This Private Service is intended to simply reassure patients with no existing eye conditions or previously diagnosed diabetic-related eye conditions. Following this Check, any detection of such eye conditions, will be immediately referred directly to your General Practitioner, who will inform your local NHS Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Service.
Please note that this Private Service is not an alternative to the accredited Local NHS Diabetic Screening Service, and not quality assured by the National Screening Committee Standards.
Our Private Service is not offered to patients with existing eye conditions or previously diagnosed diabetic-related eye conditions. We are unable to provide Grading of Diabetic Retinopathy. All diabetic patients must continue attending their local NHS Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Service.
